| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Irven Kemp, who passed away on August 18, | 4 | | 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Irven Kemp was born on January 11, 1918 in | 6 | | Chicago; his parents were Roman and Mary (nee Banach) Kempski; | 7 | | he married Louise Arado on February 23, 1946 at St. John | 8 | | Berchmans Church in Chicago; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Irven Kemp served in the United States Army Air | 10 | | Force from 1941 to 1945 in the African and Italian campaigns | 11 | | during World War II; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Irven Kemp was the Past Commander of the Crystal | 13 | | Lake American Legion Post #171; he was an active member of St. | 14 | | Thomas the Apostle Parish and a Third and Fourth Degree member | 15 | | of Father McCormick Council and the Bishop Boylan Assembly | 16 | | Knights of Columbus; he was a member of the Knights bowling | 17 | | team and attended the Knights Breakfast, the St. Patrick | 18 | | Dinner, the Polish Dinner, and the various functions of the | 19 | | council; he was honored as the Council's oldest Knight in 2013; | 20 | | and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Irven Kemp enjoyed card playing, dabbling in art, |

| 1 | | and tinkering with cars; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Irven Kemp was preceded in death by his parents; | 3 | | his wife, Louise; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Kemp; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Irven Kemp is survived by his children, Wayne Kemp | 5 | | and Carol Draveling; 3 grandchildren, John "Jay" Kemp, Brian | 6 | | (Angie) Kemp, and Daniel (Wanda) Draveling; 4 | 7 | | great-grandchildren, Matthaus and Loudren Kemp and Dane and | 8 | | Silas Draveling; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Irven Kemp; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Irven Kemp as an expression of our | 15 | | sympathy.
