| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John David "Dave" Spoor of McHenry, who | 4 | | passed away on September 16, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Spoor was born in Chicago on May 24, 1948 to | 6 | | John W. and Rosemarie C. (nee Salzer) Spoor; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, John Spoor worked as an iron worker and was a | 8 | | member of Iron Workers Local Union 1, where he took part in | 9 | | helping build some of the largest buildings in the Chicago | 10 | | skyline, including the Sears Tower, the John Hancock Building, | 11 | | and the Prudential Building; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, John Spoor enjoyed fishing, riding his | 13 | | motorcycle, playing poker, going to the casino, working in his | 14 | | garage, and spending time with his grandchildren and family; he | 15 | | never missed a softball game or swimming meet for his | 16 | | grandkids, who knew him as "Poppa Motorcycle"; he was also a | 17 | | grandpa to all the girls and families of his granddaughter's | 18 | | softball team, Meteors Softball; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, John Spoor was preceded in death by his father, | 20 | | John W. Spoor; his mother, Rosemarie Spoor; and a brother, Joel | 21 | | Spoor; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, John Spoor is survived by his wife, Norma | 2 | | McMahon-Spoor; his daughter, Melissa (Matt) Matusek; his son, | 3 | | Aaron (Jill) Spoor; his step-son, Aaron McMahon; 2 | 4 | | grandchildren, Emily and Michael Matusek; 5 | 5 | | step-grandchildren, Nolan, Jade, Serra, Kate, and Ian; a | 6 | | brother, Greg (Stephanie) Spoor; 4 nephews, Jason (David) | 7 | | Spoor-Harvey, Nicholas Spoor, Sean Spoor, and Zachary Spoor; | 8 | | and many loving cousins and friends; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | John David "Dave" Spoor, and extend our sincere condolences to | 12 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
