| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William W. "Willie" Irons, Jr. of Oak | 4 | | Park, who passed away on June 29, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was born on April 12, 1947 in | 6 | | Moberly, Missouri; his parents were William W., Sr. and Jean | 7 | | Irons; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. served his country as a member | 9 | | of the United States Army in Vietnam; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was a graduate of Decatur | 11 | | Eisenhower High School; he subsequently attended Columbia | 12 | | College, where he studied photography, and the Coyne Institute, | 13 | | where he learned the HVAC trade; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. worked in the maintenance | 15 | | department at Oak Park and River Forest High Schools for 23 | 16 | | years until his retirement in 2002; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was a member of the 5th Army | 18 | | Band and played flute, piccolo, and saxophone; he also played | 19 | | in a number of local ensembles, including the West Suburban | 20 | | Community Band; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. was an avid reader, modeler, | 2 | | machinist, and photographer; he was also a lover of old-time | 3 | | radio shows; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, William Irons, Jr. is survived by his wife, Mary | 5 | | Rose "Mitzi" (nee Jamnik); his brother, James (Jonetta); his | 6 | | brother-in-law, Yanez Jamnik; and his nieces and nephews, | 7 | | Jonathan (fiancee, Allison Mickel) Irons, Joseph Irons, | 8 | | Karolena Jamnik, Justyna (Dan) Melehan, and Jason (Danielle) | 9 | | Jamnik; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 12 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of William W. "Willie" | 13 | | Irons, Jr.; and be it further
