AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2642

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2642 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Labor and Storage Lien Act is amended by
5adding Section 1.5 as follows:
 
6    (770 ILCS 45/1.5 new)
7    Sec. 1.5. Storage fees; notice to lienholder of record.
8Any person, firm, or private corporation seeking to impose fees
9in connection with the furnishing of storage for a vehicle in
10the person's, firm's, or corporation's possession must provide
11written notice, by certified mail, to the lienholder of record
12prior to the assessment and accrual of such fees. The notice
13shall include the rate at which fees will be incurred, and
14shall provide the lienholder with an opportunity to inspect the
15vehicle on the premises where the vehicle is stored. Payment of
16the storage fees by the lienholder may be made in cash or by

1cashier's check, certified check, or wire transfer, at the
2option of the lienholder.
 
3    Section 10. The Labor and Storage Lien (Small Amount) Act
4is amended by adding Section 1.5 as follows:
 
5    (770 ILCS 50/1.5 new)
6    Sec. 1.5. Storage fees; notice to lienholder of record. Any
7person, firm, or private corporation seeking to impose fees in
8connection with the furnishing of storage for a vehicle in the
9person's, firm's, or corporation's possession must provide
