Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a motorcycle may be equipped with auxiliary accent lights, including standard bulb running lights and light emitting diode pods and strips. Provides that the auxiliary accent lights shall not be red or white or oscillating, rotating, or flashing lights. Defines "auxiliary accent light".

1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 12-209.5 as follows: |
6 | | (625 ILCS 5/12-209.5 new) |
7 | | Sec. 12-209.5. Auxiliary accent lighting on motorcycles. |
8 | | (a) A motorcycle may be equipped with any number of |
9 | | auxiliary accent lights, including standard bulb running |
10 | | lights and light emitting diode pods and strips of various |
11 | | colors. |
12 | | (b) The auxiliary accent lights allowed under subsection |
13 | | (a) of this Section shall not be red or white or oscillating, |
14 | | rotating, or flashing lights. |
15 | | (c) For the purposes of this Section, "auxiliary accent |
16 | | light" means any lighted lamp or illuminating device placed |
17 | | upon a motorcycle, other than head lamps, spot lamps, auxiliary |
18 | | driving lamps, signal lamps, or hazard warning lamps.
