| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the Northlake Fire | 4 | | Protection District on the occasion of their 75th anniversary | 5 | | in 2016; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Northlake Fire Protection District was | 7 | | organized in 1941 and is located in suburban Northlake, | 8 | | approximately 18 miles west of the city of Chicago and four | 9 | | miles south of O'Hare Airport; the District's total service | 10 | | area is approximately four square miles; the Northlake Fire | 11 | | Protection District is considered a special district and is | 12 | | supported primarily by the property owners within its | 13 | | boundaries, serving an estimated population of 7,500; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, The Northlake Fire Protection District is | 15 | | governed by a Board of Trustees elected by constituents from | 16 | | the area the fire district serves; the Board is tasked with | 17 | | being the corporate authority of the fire protection district | 18 | | and exercises all of the powers and controls all the affairs | 19 | | and property of the district; the Fire Chief and Deputy Chief | 20 | | are tasked with managing the daily operations of the fire | 21 | | district and work under the direction of the Board of Trustees; | 22 | | Administrative Chiefs work normal business hours at the fire | 23 | | station and are on-call 24 hours a day to respond to emergency |

| 1 | | calls within the fire district, emergency calls effecting | 2 | | surrounding agencies, and any other pressing matters effecting | 3 | | the fire district anytime of the day or night; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, The Northlake Fire Protection District has 19 | 5 | | full-time employees, nine part-time employees, and provides a | 6 | | full range of services to its residents, including fire | 7 | | suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention and | 8 | | public education, hazardous material response, and community | 9 | | events; the paramedics that serve the District are fully | 10 | | licensed through the Loyola Emergency Medical Services System | 11 | | and all full-time Northlake Firefighters are at minimum | 12 | | certified Emergency Medical Technicians, while most are | 13 | | paramedics; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, The Northlake Fire Protection District's services | 15 | | provided from one fire station include, one ladder truck, one | 16 | | engine, two ambulances, two utility vehicles, and two | 17 | | administration vehicles utilized to supplement response needs; | 18 | | the District also operates one fully equipped ALS (Advanced | 19 | | Life Support) ambulance and has life support equipment on both | 20 | | engines; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, The Northlake Fire Protection District will | 22 | | celebrate their 75th anniversary by holding a special | 23 | | anniversary open house at the Northlake Fire Protection |

| 1 | | District station on June 25, 2016; therefore, be it
| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 3 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 4 | | congratulate Northlake Fire Protection District on the | 5 | | occasion of their 75th anniversary and wish the District | 6 | | continued success and happiness in the future; and be it | 7 | | further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to Northlake Fire Protection District Fire Chief Rob | 10 | | Hjelmgren as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
