| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James L. | 4 | | "Jim" Broadway of Franklin County, who passed away on December | 5 | | 14, 2016; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, James Broadway was born to Lester and Eleanor | 7 | | (Hartsock) Broadway in Benton on October 3, 1946; he married | 8 | | Freda Crider; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, James Broadway was a self-employed truck driver | 10 | | for 46 years; he worked as a police officer for many years in | 11 | | Christopher; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, James Broadway was a life member of the Eagles, | 13 | | the Owner Operator Independent
Drivers Association, and the | 14 | | Sons of the American Legion Post 1961 Orient; he enjoyed
| 15 | | fishing and hunting; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, James Broadway was preceded in death by his | 17 | | parents; his sons,
Chester Broadway, Mike Crider, and Chuck | 18 | | Garbo; his brothers, Carl Hartsock, Bill
Hartsock, Stacy | 19 | | Broadway, and Kenny Ray Broadway; and his sisters, Linda | 20 | | Broadway
Matheny Groves, Paula Broadway Vaughn, Cheryl | 21 | | Broadway Jones, and Jan Hartsock; and

| 4 | | Broadway, and Linda Sanders; his brothers, Ron (Peggy) Adams, | 5 | | and Gene Dale Broadway; his sisters, Beverly (Wayne) Irvin, and | 6 | | Cathy (Joe) Lamont; 10
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; | 7 | | many nieces and nephews; and his loving pet
companion, Sophie; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 10 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 11 | | mourn the passing of James L. "Jim" Broadway, and extend our | 12 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 13 | | and loved him; and be it further
