| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Edith Laskero of Tampa, Florida, who | 4 | | passed away on March 1, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edith Laskero was born in Chicago on May 14, 1935 | 6 | | to Peter and Frances Cascella; she graduated from Josephinum | 7 | | Academy, Chicago's longest-standing Catholic high school for | 8 | | girls; she married Pat Laskero; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, After having 5 children, Edith Laskero launched a | 10 | | very successful career in real estate, earning multiple honors | 11 | | in sales and production; for most of her adult life she was a | 12 | | community leader, holding elected positions as county | 13 | | committeewoman and on the village board; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Edith Laskero's life was intertwined with the | 15 | | life-long friendships of her 3 sisters Regina, June, and | 16 | | Rosemary; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Edith Laskero was preceded in death by her parents | 18 | | and her husband of 49 years, Pat; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Edith Laskero was a devoted mother and the | 20 | | inspiration for her 5 children, Stephen (Michele), Regina, |

| 1 | | Julie (Richard) Meyer, Joseph (Bridget), and Daniel Laskero; | 2 | | the beloved grandmother of Christopher, Francesca, William, | 3 | | Joseph, Alex, Isabelle, Paolo Laskero, Melissa Hollister, and | 4 | | Erica Campbell; and great-grandmother of Ariana, Alexa, | 5 | | Robert, Max, and Cole; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Edith Laskero, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 10 | | further
