| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jarid L. Ott of Staunton, who passed away | 4 | | on April 5, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jarid Ott was born on August 20, 1941 in | 6 | | Litchfield; his parents were Robert A. Ott and Nigel B. (nee | 7 | | Coalson) Ott; he married Judith Kay (nee Paris) Ott on | 8 | | September 2, 1961 at St. Michael's the Archangel Church in | 9 | | Staunton; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jarid Ott worked as a civil engineer for the State | 11 | | of Illinois and the engineering firm of Sverdup and Parcel in | 12 | | St. Louis, Missouri for many years; in 1975, he made a complete | 13 | | career change and worked for Metropolitan Insurance for the | 14 | | next 31 years until his retirement in 2006; at the time of his | 15 | | passing, he served as the corresponding secretary for the | 16 | | Macoupin County Genealogical Society; he was also involved with | 17 | | the ITS Trail Organization; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Jarid Ott enjoyed traveling with his wife, | 19 | | spending time with his grandchildren, working in his yard, and | 20 | | St. Louis Cardinals baseball; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Jarid Ott was preceded in death by his parents; |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Jarid Ott is survived by his wife, Judith; 2 | 3 | | daughters, Cynthia (Michael) Peters and Kimberly (Richard) | 4 | | Garde; and 3 grandchildren, Victoria Peters (Matthew Valdez), | 5 | | Rachel Garde (Ross Bellm), and Zachary Garde; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 8 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Jarid L. Ott; and be | 9 | | it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Jarid Ott as an expression of our | 12 | | sympathy.
