| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Sharon Lynn Harrison of Caseyville, who | 4 | | passed away on June 16, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Harrison was born in Ames, Iowa on October | 6 | | 31, 1938 to Kenneth and Leonora (nee Cronin) Phillips; she | 7 | | graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science | 8 | | in Home Economics; she married Moses W. Harrison, II in | 9 | | Collinsville on December 30, 1961; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Harrison was a field home economist with | 11 | | the Pet Milk Company in St. Louis, Missouri, where she appeared | 12 | | live on television and radio stations around the nation, wrote | 13 | | educational materials for schools, gave educational seminars | 14 | | for home economics departments of many colleges and | 15 | | universities, and did other promotional work for the company; | 16 | | during that time, she was active in the American Home Economics | 17 | | Association (now the Association of Family and Consumer | 18 | | Sciences), Home Economists in Business, and American Women in | 19 | | Radio and Television; in 1962, she was featured in the magazine | 20 | | "Practical Home Economics" and appeared on the cover; she | 21 | | served as speaker for many different local civic, educational, | 22 | | and religious groups and was elected President of the | 23 | | Collinsville Panhellenic Association; later, she was a sales |

| 1 | | associate and sewing instructor for Eunice Farmer Fabrics of | 2 | | St. Louis; she also coordinated the sewing classes for the | 3 | | company sewing school; she and Eunice Farmer co-founded and | 4 | | co-owned F-H Enterprises, a small pattern company; she also | 5 | | taught dressmaking, tailoring, and ultrasuede classes for | 6 | | Belleville Area College, now known as Southwestern Illinois | 7 | | College, and was the featured speaker of the American Sewing | 8 | | Guild for the Springfield Lincoln Land Chapter in Springfield; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Harrison was a former member of Christ | 11 | | Episcopal Church in Collinsville, where she was a member of the | 12 | | vestry and a licensed Lay Reader; she was a member of St. | 13 | | Michael's Episcopal Church in O'Fallon and a former member of | 14 | | the Association of Wives of Illinois Lawyers; she was an active | 15 | | participant in her husband's election campaigns; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Harrison was preceded in death by her | 17 | | husband of 51 years, Moses; her son, Luke W. Harrison; and her | 18 | | parents; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Sharon Harrison is survived by her son, Clarence | 20 | | W. Harrison, and his wife, Carol, and their daughters, Lauren | 21 | | and Rachel; her grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob and their | 22 | | mother, Mary Harrison; and many other nieces, nephews, other | 23 | | relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
