| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James B. Maxwell of Pittsfield, who | 4 | | passed away on July 7, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Maxwell was born in Fullerton, California on | 6 | | November 11, 1936 to Violet Ellen Weatherwax Maxwell and James | 7 | | Grenon Maxwell; he graduated from Fullerton High School in | 8 | | 1956, where he was a standout athlete and captain of the | 9 | | varsity football team his senior year; he received his Bachelor | 10 | | of Science from Arizona State University in 1960, where he was | 11 | | a proud member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity; he married Wilma | 12 | | Faye Silvernail in Phoenix, Arizona on April 9, 1960, and they | 13 | | moved to Riverton, California; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, James Maxwell and his family left California and | 15 | | settled outside of Manito on their farm; he began farming and | 16 | | teaching at Wilson Elementary School in Pekin; he farmed, drove | 17 | | the Forman school bus, and taught social studies at Forman | 18 | | Junior High School; he was a highly respected and awarded | 19 | | Country Companies Insurance and Financial Agent and Manager | 20 | | until his retirement in 1996; he also served the Forest City | 21 | | Community Church as a member and board director; and
| 22 | | WHEREAS, James Maxwell and his wife enjoyed living in both |

| 1 | | Illinois and Florida during their retirement; he enjoyed | 2 | | dancing, golf, spending time with family and friends, a good | 3 | | dinner and conversation, and "Jim-Lit" to wash it down; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, James Maxwell was preceded in death by his | 5 | | parents; his wife of 47 years, Wilma; and his sister, | 6 | | Elizabeth; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, James Maxwell is survived by his daughter, Janine | 8 | | Maxwell; his son, Jeffrey (Becky) Maxwell; his grandson, Adam | 9 | | Maxwell; his granddaughter, Anna Grace Maxwell; his | 10 | | brother-in-law, Michael (Mary) Silvernail; his brother-in-law, | 11 | | Jim (Betty) Stacy; his 2 nieces, Melissa Johnson and Gladys | 12 | | Farnam; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; | 13 | | therefore, be it
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 16 | | James B. Maxwell, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 18 | | further
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 20 | | presented to the family of James Maxwell as an expression of | 21 | | our deepest sympathy.
