| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Darwin "Buz" Kershaw of Colona, who | 4 | | passed away on August 24, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was born in Colona on May 12, 1932 | 6 | | to Clyde and Berniece A. Crouch Kershaw; he married Joanne | 7 | | Voorhis in Colona in 1951; he served in the United States Army | 8 | | from 1953 to 1955; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was a life-long farmer; he, along | 10 | | with his mother and brother, Darrell, owned the Kershaw Mobile | 11 | | Home Park in Colona; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw married Barbara Bender in 1990 in | 13 | | Bradenton, Florida; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was a long-time member of Green | 15 | | Rock Colona American Legion Post 1233; he enjoyed golf, | 16 | | bowling, and flying his plane in his earlier years; he enjoyed | 17 | | getting on his motorcycle and riding to his friend, Jim | 18 | | Mortier's to repair farm equipment; he also enjoyed watching | 19 | | the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, NASCAR, and times with his | 20 | | grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents; his first wife, Joanne; his brother, Darrell Kershaw; | 3 | | and his sister, Donna Michels; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Darwin Kershaw is survived by his wife, Barb; his | 5 | | daughter, Brenda (Armando) Veloz; his sons, David (Grace) | 6 | | Kershaw, Dale (Jackie) Kershaw, and Duane (Diane) Kershaw; his | 7 | | stepsons, Bill (Mary Ann) Bender, John (Angel) Bender, and Tom | 8 | | (Brenda) Bender; his daughter, Becky; several grandchildren | 9 | | and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Meier; | 10 | | therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Darwin "Buz" Kershaw, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
