| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard E. Lind, M.D. of Woodstock, who | 4 | | passed away on September 27, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lind was born in Princeton on October 9, 1951 | 6 | | to Ellis and Vivian (nee Jenner) Lind; he graduated with a | 7 | | chemistry degree from the University of Illinois at | 8 | | Urbana-Champaign and later attended medical school at the | 9 | | University of Illinois at Chicago; he married Joanne Hoeft on | 10 | | June 12, 1976 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in | 11 | | Naperville; he completed his surgical residency and vascular | 12 | | fellowship at the University of Iowa; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lind moved to Woodstock in 1983; he founded | 14 | | Surgical Associates of Fox Valley in Crystal Lake; he was a | 15 | | member of the medical staff at Centegra Hospitals in Woodstock | 16 | | and McHenry and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington; | 17 | | over his 33 years, he has served as President of the medical | 18 | | staff, Chief of Surgery, and Chief Trauma Director at both | 19 | | Centegra Hospital-Woodstock and McHenry; he was a hospital | 20 | | board member and Chairman of the Cancer Committee; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lind faithfully attended his 4 sons' sporting | 22 | | events throughout their school years, rarely missing a game |

| 1 | | despite a rigorous schedule; he enjoyed rooting for Chicago | 2 | | sports teams and took pleasure in working in his garden; he | 3 | | loved music and playing the piano and the trumpet; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lind was preceded in death by his father, | 5 | | Ellis; his in-laws, Walter and Sophia Hoeft; and his sister, | 6 | | Diane Nyman; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lind is survived by his of wife of 39 years, | 8 | | Joanne; his sons, Thomas (Karlyn), Michael (Jennifer), | 9 | | Timothy, and Jeffrey; his mother, Vivian; his brother, Donald | 10 | | (Susan); his sister, Denise (James) Guinn; and his 17 nieces | 11 | | and nephews; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Richard E. Lind, M.D., and extend our sincere condolences to | 15 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Dr. Lind as an expression of our | 19 | | deepest sympathy.
