| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Charles Richard "Charlie" Barr of | 4 | | Thomasboro, who passed away on March 8, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charles Barr was born in Gibson City to George and | 6 | | Ruth (Higgins) Barr on December 21, 1931; he graduated from | 7 | | Drummer Township High School in 1950 and served in the United | 8 | | States Navy from 1950 to 1954; he married Ruby Swarm in Gibson | 9 | | City on May 9, 1952; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Charles Barr worked in the print shop for the | 11 | | Gibson City Courier for many years; he later retired from the | 12 | | Carle Print Shop; he served on the Thomasboro Village Board for | 13 | | 12 years; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Charles Barr was a founding member of the | 15 | | Thomasboro Improvement Association; he was also a member of the | 16 | | Fisher AMVETS; he loved to go fishing, and in his younger days, | 17 | | he was an avid hunter; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Charles Barr was preceded in death by his wife, | 19 | | Ruby; his parents; his two sisters; his son, Stephen; and his | 20 | | grandson, Kristoffer; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Charles Barr is survived by his son, Michael D. | 2 | | (Karen) Barr; his two grandchildren, Brad (Patti Herges) Barr | 3 | | and Katie (Blake) Giles; his two step-grandsons, James Reed and | 4 | | Jon Reed; and his longtime companion, Laura Wooters; therefore, | 5 | | be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Charles Richard "Charlie" Barr, and extend our sincere | 9 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 10 | | him; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Charles Barr as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
