| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Billy J. Burks of North Chicago, who | 4 | | passed away on March 5, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Billy Burks was born in Mexia, Texas to Elijah | 6 | | Burks Jr. and Lurlean Adams on September 3, 1944; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Billy Burks retired from OMC and Gurnee School | 8 | | District 56; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Billy Burks enjoyed building computers and | 10 | | spending time with his grandchildren; he was active at Mt. | 11 | | Sinai Institutional Baptist Church of North Chicago with the | 12 | | Usher Ministry for many years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Billy Burks was preceded in death by his parents, | 14 | | and his brothers, Mack Edward Burks and Elijah Burks III; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Billy Burks is survived by his wife of 49 years, | 16 | | Harrie (Burks); his son, Rodottes (Bertha) Burks; his daughter, | 17 | | Quanisha Burks; his two sisters, Nevada (Elmo) Hawkins and | 18 | | Nylene Bigham; his brother, Tennyson Burks; his four | 19 | | grandchildren, Shaniqua, Zaira, Nathan, and Demetrius; his | 20 | | four sisters-in-law, Ollie Pearl Payne, Ida Nabors, Ethel |
