| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Beth M. Shannon of Geneva, who passed | 4 | | away on June 12, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon was born in Antigo, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Francis and Donna (Matzke) Gilson on February 5, 1962; she | 7 | | earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University | 8 | | of Wisconsin-Eau Claire; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon was passionate about teaching and was | 10 | | a longtime 5th grade teacher at Western Avenue School in | 11 | | Geneva; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon enjoyed baking and shopping and had a | 13 | | beautiful flower garden every year; she also loved spending | 14 | | time with her family; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon was preceded in death by her | 16 | | father-in-law, Hugh Shannon, and her sister-in-law, Angela | 17 | | Shannon; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Beth Shannon is survived by her loving husband of | 19 | | 28 years, Dan; her children, Eryn and Bret; her parents; her | 20 | | brothers and sisters, Tom Gilson, Nancy Gilson, David (Katie) |
