| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ruth T. (Clarkens) Nick of McHenry, who | 4 | | passed away on December 3, 2016, at the age of 91; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Nick was born to William E. and Theresa | 6 | | (Betz) Clarkens on January 1, 1925; she married Raymond Nick at | 7 | | St. James Church in Arlington Heights on November 25, 1950; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Nick retired from Baxter Laboratories as a | 9 | | Laboratory Supervisor and was a member of the Baxter Alumni; | 10 | | and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Nick was a cherished member of Faith | 12 | | Evangelical Lutheran Church in Antioch and a volunteer for Head | 13 | | Start in Libertyville; she was very active in the Fox Lake | 14 | | Lions Club; she was the former chaplain, chairwoman of the | 15 | | Health and Welfare committee, co-chairwoman and organizer of | 16 | | the annual Flower Show, Lioness of the Year, and recipient of | 17 | | the 1984 Melvin Jones Award; she volunteered for the Lions | 18 | | Candy Day and Bingo; she enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, | 19 | | reading, and the occasional fishing trip; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Nick was preceded in death by her parents; | 21 | | her husband, Raymond; her sister, Alice Knaack; and her |

| 1 | | brothers-in-law, Clyde Canovi, Edward Glod, and Wade Winstead; | 2 | | and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Nick is survived by her daughter, Patricia | 4 | | (William) Koznarski; her grandson, Richard Koznarski; her | 5 | | great-granddaughter, Jolyn Koznarski; her | 6 | | great-great-grandson, Ian Koznarski; her sisters, Irene | 7 | | Canovi, Shirley Glod, Bernice Winstead; her brother William F. | 8 | | Clarkens; and her many beloved nieces and nephews; therefore, | 9 | | be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | 12 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Ruth T. Nick, and | 13 | | extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all | 14 | | who knew and loved her; and be it further
