AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2363

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2363 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by
5changing Section 7-301 as follows:
 
6    (605 ILCS 5/7-301)  (from Ch. 121, par. 7-301)
7    Sec. 7-301.
8    In order to properly plan the utilization of motor fuel tax
9funds each municipality of over 5,000 population shall be
10required to develop and update a 20 year long-range highway
11transportation plan for a period not to exceed 20 years. The
12plan shall contain an estimate of revenues which will become
13available during that period and a statement of intention with
14respect to the construction, maintenance, and other related
15work to be done insofar as it is possible to make such
16estimates. In addition, the long-range plan shall show the

1location of existing municipal streets and the general
2corridors of future highways, the projected future traffic
3usage on each street for the duration of the plan a 20 year
4period, a tabulation showing the design standards and the
5geometric features associated with different levels of traffic
6usage, and a listing of the major improvements anticipated with
7the within 5 years of the date of each plan. A copy of the plan
8shall be made publicly available filed with the County
9Superintendent of Highways in the county or counties in which
10the municipality is located and with the Secretary of the
11Department of Transportation. The initial plan shall be on file
12with the designated agencies by July 1, 1971 and shall be
13updated and made publicly available on an annual basis
14thereafter.
