| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding | 5 | | Sections 3-699.19 and 3-699.20 as follows: | 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/3-699.19 new) | 7 | | Sec. 3-699.19. Combat Action Ribbon license plates. | 8 | | (a) The Secretary of State, upon receipt of all applicable | 9 | | fees and applications made in the form prescribed by the | 10 | | Secretary, may issue special registration plates designated as | 11 | | Combat Action Ribbon plates. The special plates issued under | 12 | | this Section shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles of the | 13 | | first division, motorcycles, and motor vehicles of the second | 14 | | division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates under this | 15 | | Section shall expire according to the multi-year procedure | 16 | | established by Section 3-414.1 of this Code. | 17 | | (b) The plates shall display the Combat Action Ribbon. In | 18 | | all other respects, the design and color of the special plates | 19 | | shall be wholly within the discretion of the Secretary. | 20 | | Appropriate documentation, as determined by the Secretary, | 21 | | shall accompany each application. The Secretary may, in his or | 22 | | her
discretion, allow the plates to be issued as vanity plates | 23 | | or personalized in
accordance with Section 3-405.1 of this |

designate "Land of | 2 | | Lincoln", as prescribed in subsection (b) of Section 3-412

in his or her discretion, shall approve and | 5 | | prescribe stickers or decals as
