1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5573
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5573 by replacing
3 lines 23 on page 20 through line 4 on page 21 with "defendant's
4 written motion. The victim may choose a different person to be
5 the victim's support person. The court may allow the defendant
6 to inquire about matters outside the scope of the direct
7 examination during cross examination. If the court allows the
8 defendant to do so, the support person shall be allowed to
9 remain"; and

10 on page 21, immediately below line 12, by inserting the
11 following:

12             "If the court does not allow the defendant to
13         inquire about matters outside the scope of the direct
14         examination, the support person shall be allowed to
15         remain in the courtroom after the support person has
16         been called by the defendant or the defendant has

1         rested. The court shall allow the support person to
2         testify in the State's rebuttal.".
