| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia | 4 | | A. "Pat" Schultz of Carpentersville, who passed away on October | 5 | | 16, 2017; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was born in Chicago to Walter S. and | 7 | | Carol J. (Cavinder) Claxton on January 31, 1956; she graduated | 8 | | from Barrington High School in 1973 and married Paul A. Schultz | 9 | | on April 20, 1974; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was motivated to serve the | 11 | | Carpentersville community and became a trustee in 2009; she was | 12 | | recently elected to her third term; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was instrumental in bringing | 14 | | Stanford's Battery, a nonprofit organization dedicated to | 15 | | preserving the country's Civil War-era history, to the village | 16 | | two years in a row for reenactment events; she also partnered | 17 | | with the Faithwalk Harvest Center to relaunch the clergy | 18 | | commission after a several-year hiatus; she served on the | 19 | | village's Audit and Finance Commission and as chairman of the | 20 | | Carpentersville Improvement Committee; she always challenged | 21 | | proposals that would have raised fees or taxes; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was incredibly passionate about | 2 | | Carpentersville; her constant focus was on what the residents | 3 | | needed; she was a dedicated public servant with a good heart; | 4 | | and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Pat Schultz was preceded in death by her parents | 6 | | and her husband of 19 years, Paul; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Pat Schultz is survived by her children, Sarah | 8 | | (Jesse DeVries) Schultz and Michael (Michelle) Schultz; her | 9 | | grandson, Kadin; her sister, Tracey Fukala; her brothers, Randy | 10 | | and Jerry Claxton; her sister-in-law, Susan Batterham; and her | 11 | | nieces, nephews, many friends; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 13 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 14 | | mourn the passing of Patricia A. "Pat" Schultz, and extend our | 15 | | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | 16 | | and loved her; and be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Pat Schultz as an expression of our | 19 | | deepest sympathy.
