| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Charles | 4 | | E. "Charlie" Tweedy of Wood River, who passed away on September | 5 | | 26, 2018; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Tweedy was born in Wood River to John and | 7 | | Vira "Jackie" (Bradshaw) Tweedy on September 8, 1932; he | 8 | | attended East Alton-Wood River High School, where he was a | 9 | | 2-time state qualifier in the half-mile; he served in the U.S. | 10 | | Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Juneau and married | 11 | | Carol R. Hanks in Mississippi on September 24, 1956; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Tweedy co-owned Charlie's Drive-In in | 13 | | Wood River; previously, he worked for Standard Oil, as a route | 14 | | driver for Taystee Bread and Mrs. Allison's Cookies, and, after | 15 | | selling the Drive-In, as an attendant for Marks Mortuary; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Tweedy was an avid fan of the St. Louis | 17 | | Cardinals; he also enjoyed following NCAA basketball, | 18 | | especially the Bobby Knight-coached Indiana Hoosiers; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Tweedy was preceded in death by his | 20 | | parents; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Charlie Tweedy is survived by his wife, Carol; his | 2 | | sons, Scott (LeeAnn) and Tim (Cynthia) Tweedy; his daughters, | 3 | | Rhonda Tweedy (Clyde) Cachero and Teresa "Bear" Tweedy; his | 4 | | grandchildren, Amie Meyer, Lauren (Brad) Read, Ashley Tweedy, | 5 | | Brooke Tweedy, and Addison Tweedy; his great-granddaughter, | 6 | | Grace Read; and his sister, Dolores Kessler; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 8 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 9 | | mourn the passing of Charles E. "Charlie" Tweedy and extend our | 10 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 11 | | and loved him; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Charlie Tweedy as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
