SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Earl H. Kroeger of Rock Island, who
4passed away on January 16, 2017 at the age of 85; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Kroeger was born to Theodore and Mabel
6Kroeger of Long Grove, Iowa on February 1, 1931; he graduated
7from Davenport High School and Deforest Training School with a
8degree in electronics; he served in the United States Army
9during the Korean War and married Martha Dugan at St. Joseph's
10Catholic Church in Rock Island, on September 29, 1951; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Earl Kroeger owned and operated Hilltop
12Television and Satellite in Davenport for 35 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Earl Kroeger was an avid hunter, fisherman, and
14boater; he was also active on community councils and with the
15Boy Scouts of America; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Earl Kroeger was preceded in death by his son,
17Douglas, and his daughter, Christie; his parents, seven
18brothers, and one sister; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Earl Kroeger is survived by his wife of 65 years,
20Martha; his daughter, Paula Ambre; his sons, Ricky J. (Debra)

1Kroeger, and Curtis E. (Mindy) Kroeger; his sister, Inez Sharp;
2four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; therefore,
3be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Earl H. Kroeger, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Earl Kroeger as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
