SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Walter R. White of Moline, who passed
4away on February 2, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Walter White was born in Jacksonville, North
6Carolina to George and Lillian Stringfield White on September
719, 1927; he served in the United States Army and graduated
8from North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned dual
9degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering; he married
10Doris "Dollie" Wallace in Chicago; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Walter White retired after 37 years with Rock
12Island Arsenal, where he earned numerous awards; he later
13contracted with KONE Elevators and Escalators; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Walter White was a lifetime member of the Kappi
15Alpha Psi Fraternity; he was an active member of the Riverside
16Methodist Men's Group and was an avid golfer; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Walter White was preceded in death by his parents;
18his sisters, Thelma, Helena, and Leontine; and his brother,
19William; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Walter White is survived by his wife, Doris; his

1children, Garrison R. White, Gregory S. (Loren) White, Alicia
2Lyn (Duane) Burns, Adrienne Joy (Douglas) Green, Walter Guy
3(Tina) White, and Todd D. (Tracy) White; his grandchildren,
4Briana, Courtney, Cameron, Austin, Kennedy, Solomon, Olivia,
5Victoria, and Jordan; his siblings, Barbara Jean White, Gordon
6(Carol) White, Richard (Barbara) White, George White Jr., and
7Frederick White; he was uncle to many nieces and nephews and
8chose to lovingly grandparent Zach and Morgan, and to be a
9father and friend to the Chalfant children; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Walter R. White, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Walter White as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
