| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lois M. Le Menager of Lake Forest, who | 4 | | passed away on December 28, 2016 at the age of 82; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was born in Cleveland, Ohio to | 6 | | Lawrence and Lillian Stanek on April 25, 1934; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager took care of running the household | 8 | | while her parents worked; while raising her own children, she | 9 | | was ceaseless in helping with school activities, volunteering, | 10 | | and organizing concessions at high school football games; she | 11 | | was enormously proud of her Czechoslovakian heritage and was an | 12 | | outstanding cook (especially at making chicken paprikash); she | 13 | | was also a painter, poet, a gifted counselor to kids, and | 14 | | mentor to young business people; she had a passion for the | 15 | | military, devoting her time and resources to those who have | 16 | | served and continue to serve; she had a particular fondness for | 17 | | women in business; she made every effort to lend a hand or | 18 | | offer advice in the pursuit of inspiring women; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, In 1978, Lois Le Menager founded Marketing | 20 | | Innovators International, Inc., an incentive marketing company | 21 | | in Rosemont; through her efforts and energy, MI remains one of | 22 | | the largest woman-owned businesses in the country and one of |

| 1 | | Chicago's largest private firms; over the years, she received | 2 | | numerous prestigious awards, all recognizing her tremendous | 3 | | contributions to furthering the incentive industry; she was | 4 | | recognized by the Entrepreneur of the Year Institute, | 5 | | Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, and the American Institute of | 6 | | Entrepreneurs; she was awarded Chicago's Top Women-Owned Firms | 7 | | from Crain's Chicago Business; Who's-Who in Chicago Business; | 8 | | America's Top 500 Women-Owned Businesses, and Working Woman | 9 | | Magazine as One of the Largest Women-Owned Businesses in the | 10 | | Country; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager enjoyed being a "professional | 12 | | shopper" (there wasn't anything on the internet that she | 13 | | couldn't find) and beating the odds at the slot machines; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was generous to many charities and | 15 | | associations; she served on the board of Junior Achievement, | 16 | | donated land to the Boys and Girls Club of America, and was an | 17 | | early member of the Women Business Development Center, and the | 18 | | Chicago Network; she not only traveled the world, but also | 19 | | participated in many travel and incentive industry | 20 | | associations; she served as a director for Northwest Commerce | 21 | | and First Colonial Banks (which later became FirStar and US | 22 | | Bank) for 10 years, and is a past director of the Chicagoland | 23 | | Chamber of Commerce; she actively supported the Wounded Warrior | 24 | | Project and helped with donations to build The National World |

| 1 | | War II Museum in New Orleans; she will be missed, but never | 2 | | forgotten; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Lois Le Menager was the devoted wife of Spencer H. | 4 | | Le Menager; the loving mother of Richard (Jill) Blabolil, and | 5 | | Sherry Blabolil-Das; the caring grandmother of Meghan (Ben) | 6 | | Jarvis, Sumeer Das, Molly Blabolil, Courtney Das, Emily | 7 | | Blabolil, and Abby Blabolil; and the delighted | 8 | | great-grandmother to Charlie Jack Jarvis; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Lois Le Menager, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Lois Le Menager as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
