| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Derek Robert Caskey of Marengo, who | 4 | | passed away on January 17, 2017 at the age of 20; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Derek Caskey was born in Barrington to Patrick K. | 6 | | and Rae (Henderson) Caskey on January 4, 1997; he was a 2015 | 7 | | graduate of Marengo Community High School where he was an avid | 8 | | football player and held a 3.5 GPA; he was a member of the | 9 | | Illinois High School Association All State Academic Football | 10 | | Team, an All Conference Wrestler, and Unanimous All Conference | 11 | | for Football; at the time of his passing, he was a | 12 | | student-athlete at Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he was | 13 | | a member of the football team as an offensive lineman; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Derek Caskey was a true Star Wars fan and sketch | 15 | | artist; he enjoyed football, fishing, hunting, and golf; he | 16 | | also enjoyed his dad's home-cooked meals, and his grandma's | 17 | | mac-and-cheese; he loved spending time with his cat, Bertha, | 18 | | his puppy, Rhino, and his dog, Butkus; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Derek Caskey was preceded in death by his | 20 | | grandparents, Robert and Joyce Caskey, and Roger and Julia | 21 | | Henderson; and his uncle, Tim Caskey; and

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Derek Robert Caskey, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 7 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 8 | | further
