| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Daniel Edward Deardoff of Rock Island, | 4 | | who passed away on February 10, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Deardoff was born in Moline to Lawrence W. | 6 | | and Betsy Snively Deardoff on November 6, 1947; he graduated | 7 | | from Rock Island High School in 1965; he served four years in | 8 | | the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War; he was | 9 | | stationed in Guam and at the Loring Air Force Base in Maine, | 10 | | serving with the rank of Sergeant; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Deardoff was a firefighter for the City of | 12 | | Rock Island for 32 years, serving in the Fire Prevention | 13 | | Bureau, and as an arson investigator; he retired at the rank of | 14 | | Lieutenant; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Deardoff was a longtime member of the Rock | 16 | | Island Conservation Club and the Quad City Conservation | 17 | | Alliance and Expo Center and was instrumental in its creation; | 18 | | he was also a member of the Rock Island Retired Firefighters | 19 | | Association and the Moline Fish Club; he enjoyed collecting | 20 | | firefighting memorabilia and fishing, but his greatest love was | 21 | | for his family; and

| 3 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Deardoff is survived by his son, Michael | 4 | | (Amanda) Deardoff; his daughters, Ilya Hawk, and Marleana | 5 | | (Tyler) Boyd; his grandchildren, Skyler, Hunter, Alanah, | 6 | | Laramie Jr., Gabrielle, and Olivia; his mother, Betsy Deardoff; | 7 | | his sister, Kathy Little; and his nephews, Chris (Jenny) and | 8 | | Matthew (Jenny) Little; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Daniel Edward Deardoff, and extend our sincere condolences to | 12 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
