| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy "Dottie" Parsons-Freeman of | 4 | | Alton, who passed away on February 18, 2017 at the age of 81; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman was born in Alton to | 7 | | Walter and Kathleen (King) Stilwell on December 18, 1935; she | 8 | | married Ronald L. Parsons on October 11, 1953, and later | 9 | | married Elbert "Tot" Freeman on December 26, 2004; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman graduated from Marquette | 11 | | Catholic High School in 1953; she was a very active member of | 12 | | Ss. Peter & Paul Proto-Cathedral in Alton, and volunteered at | 13 | | the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate in Godfrey; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman was preceded in death by | 15 | | her parents; her first husband, Ronald; and a brother, John | 16 | | Stilwell; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Parsons-Freeman is survived by her | 18 | | husband, Elbert; three daughters, Deborah (Kevin) | 19 | | Stahlschmidt, Nancy Kilmer, and Susan (Gary) Dyer; one son, Tom | 20 | | (Ann) Parsons; one stepdaughter, Ann (Spencer) Duncan; three | 21 | | stepsons, John Freeman, David Freeman, and Daniel (Sandy) |
