| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Thomas Jerome Drew of Carlinville, who | 4 | | passed away on February 25, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Drew was born in Carlinville to Patrick and | 6 | | Mary (Kelly) Drew on February 25, 1926; he graduated from | 7 | | Carlinville High School in 1944 and served in the United States | 8 | | Navy as a Gunner's Mate Third Class during World War II; he | 9 | | married Marjorie Huyear in Carlinville on April 23, 1949; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Drew was a Lieutenant in the Illinois State | 11 | | Police, retiring in 1978; following retirement, he worked for | 12 | | Koster Construction, the Macoupin County Housing Authority, | 13 | | and farmed; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Drew was a 65-year member of the Guy Baird | 15 | | American Legion Post #544 in Carlinville; he was also a member | 16 | | of SS Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville and the | 17 | | Knights of Columbus #663; he enjoyed spending time with his | 18 | | family and outdoor activities; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Drew was preceded in death by his parents; | 20 | | his sister, Rita Yowell; and his brothers, Henry, Robert, and | 21 | | John Drew; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Drew is survived by his wife of 67 years, | 2 | | Marjorie; his daughters, Marjorie (Jude) Glow, Nancy (Robert) | 3 | | Colantino, and Colleen (James) Lutz; his sons, Curt and Patrick | 4 | | (Kristi) Drew; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; | 5 | | his sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Virginia Drew; and a large | 6 | | extended family; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Thomas Jerome Drew, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
