| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William Colonna of Crest Hill, who passed | 4 | | away on February 14, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Colonna was born in Joliet to Massimo and | 6 | | Mary (Caruso) Colonna on May 26, 1929; he graduated from | 7 | | Lockport Township High School and served with the United States | 8 | | Army during the Korean War; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, William Colonna worked as an electrician at US | 10 | | Steel Mill, Argonne National Laboratory, and DeFranco | 11 | | Electric; he retired from the Illinois Youth Center; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, William Colonna was an active member of St. Anne | 13 | | Catholic Church in Crest Hill; he was a lifetime member of | 14 | | Cantigny VFW Post #367 and a member of the Loyal Order of | 15 | | Moose; he was a Trustee of the Senior Citizen Association, and | 16 | | Lodge Membership Chair for KSKJ #29; he was a former member and | 17 | | Past President of the Chaney-Monge School Board, the St. Anne | 18 | | Council, and the St. Anne Credit Union, where he was a former | 19 | | member of the Board of Directors; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, William Colonna was selected to participate in the | 21 | | Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on September 7, 2016; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, William Colonna was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents and his sisters, Edna (Joseph) Stukel, Susan (Joseph) | 3 | | Chaloka, and Muffy (Victor) Tomac; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, William Colonna is survived by his wife of 62 | 5 | | years, Lorraine (Govednik) Colonna; his children, William M. | 6 | | Colonna, Sheryl Long, and David J. (Caroline) Colonna; his | 7 | | grandchildren, Adam and Matthew Long, Staci (Ryan) Heine, and | 8 | | Alexander (McKenzie, fiancee), and Nicholas Colonna; and | 9 | | several nieces, nephews, and godchildren; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | William Colonna, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of William Colonna as an expression of | 17 | | our deepest sympathy.
