| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are sadden to | 3 | | learn of the death of Cynthia R. Harris of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the age of 68; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris was born in Waukegan to the late | 6 | | Earl Schultz and Gloria Obenauf on June 27, 1948; she married | 7 | | Richard Harris in McHenry on August 17, 1968; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris spent 11 years as a 4-H member, and | 9 | | dedicated 30 more years to being a 4-H Club Leader and 4-H | 10 | | Community Worker in McHenry County; she volunteered as a | 11 | | parent, grandparent, community club leader, and chaperone to | 12 | | almost every possible 4-H event, from country, regional, and | 13 | | state levels; her passion was working with 4-H members and | 14 | | watching them develop the life skills they learn in 4-H; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris embodied the spirit of "making the | 16 | | best better!"; she was an active member of the First United | 17 | | Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, serving on many committees, | 18 | | was a Sunday School teacher, as well as the wedding | 19 | | coordinator; she was an avid gardener, sewer, quilter, and she | 20 | | loved cooking and trying new recipes; she loved spending time | 21 | | with her family, especially her grandchildren, coaching them in | 22 | | their needed life skills; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris is survived by her two daughters, | 2 | | Meredith (Donald) Sena, and Nancy (Frank) Kowalski; three | 3 | | grandchildren, Robert (fiance Alexandra Mineau) Harris, and | 4 | | Tonya and Katrina Kowalski; her sister, Linda (Allen) Freund; | 5 | | her brothers, Kevin (Pam) Schultz, Kelvin (Sarah) Schultz, and | 6 | | Kerry (Gwyn) Schultz; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, | 7 | | be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Cynthia R. Harris, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 12 | | further
