| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Edward William Schaefer, who passed away | 4 | | on February 15, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer was born in Chicago to Robert and | 6 | | Marilyn (Taken) Schaefer on November 7, 1951; he married Sarah | 7 | | Donahue at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock on September | 8 | | 24, 1976; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer moved to Harvard with his family | 10 | | when he was 16 years old to build Plum Tree Golf Course with | 11 | | his father; he was a member of International Operating | 12 | | Engineers Local 150 for 49 years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer taught his girls how to work on | 14 | | cars and to do home improvements; he enjoyed taking his family | 15 | | camping, and taught them to ride horses; he enjoyed building | 16 | | homes, taking trips to Mexico and Fort Myers, Florida with | 17 | | friends and family, taking boat rides on Lake Geneva, and | 18 | | family road trips to Gulf Shores for many years; he was very | 19 | | adventurous, and loved finding new places to explore and | 20 | | spending time with his family; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | parents, and a brother-in-law, Roger Curio; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Edward Schaefer is survived by his wife, Sarah | 3 | | "Sally"; his daughters, Katherine, Jennifer Schaefer, and Amy | 4 | | (Charlie) Vicari; his grandchildren, Colin, Allyson, and | 5 | | Charlie; his sisters, Bonnie (Ray) Shields and Joan Curio; and | 6 | | many cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Edward William Schaefer, and extend our sincere condolences to | 10 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Edward Schaefer as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
