2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Robert L. Vojas, who passed away on March |
4 | | 19, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Vojas was born October 5, 1933 in Staunton |
6 | | to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vojas on October 5, 1933; he graduated |
7 | | from St. Michael's Middle School, he graduated from Staunton |
8 | | High School, and he served in the United States Navy; he |
9 | | married Mary Seketa on August 24, 1957; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Vojas worked at the McDonnell Douglas |
11 | | Corporation from 1954 to 1995, where he was the Director of |
12 | | Quality Assurance; he worked on the P-40 Tomahawk, the F-4 |
13 | | Phantom II, the PV-2 Harpoon, cruise missiles, and the Skylab |
14 | | space station; in 1988 and 1989, he received the Navy's Salty |
15 | | Dog Award; he also received the McDonnell Douglas President's |
16 | | Award in 1989 in recognition of his work as the product |
17 | | assurance manager on the Harpoon program; he began his second |
18 | | career working at Scott's Service Center; and

19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Vojas was a member of St. Michael the |
20 | | Archangel Catholic Church of Staunton; he was a member of the |
21 | | Staunton American Legion Post #362 and the Staunton Lion's |
22 | | Club, where he previously served as President; he was a former |
