| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Wallace C. Seyb "Wally" of Rock Island, | 4 | | who passed away on March 17, 2017; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Wallace Seyb was born in Rock Island to Raymond | 6 | | and Myrtle Bartell Seyb on November 18, 1923; he graduated from | 7 | | Rock Island High School in 1942 and enlisted in the United | 8 | | States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Savannah during | 9 | | World War II; he married Shirley Kennedy Lund on September 5, | 10 | | 1951; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Wallace Seyb retired from the Rock Island Fire | 12 | | Department as a Captain in 1976; he later retired from | 13 | | Augustana College, where he worked in the maintenance | 14 | | department; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Wallace Seyb was a member of the Rock Island | 16 | | Retired Firefighters Association, Moline American Legion Post | 17 | | 246, and Rock Island VFW Post 1303; he enjoyed gardening and | 18 | | making salsa; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Wallace Seyb was preceded in death by his wife, | 20 | | Shirley; two grandchildren; his brothers, Russell and Roland | 21 | | Seyb; and his sister, Marilyn Winger; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Wallace C. Seyb is survived by his sons David | 2 | | (Susie) Lund, Charles (Cheryl) Seyb, Daniel (Jolene) Seyb, and | 3 | | James (Rebecca) Seyb; his daughter, Suzan Johnson; eight | 4 | | grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Wallace "Wally" Seyb, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Wallace Seyb as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
