SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James E. Padesky of Moline, who passed
4away on March 26, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Padesky was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to
6Jacob and Eileen Burns Padesky on April 26, 1921; he graduated
7from Aquinas High School in LaCrosse and the University of
8Notre Dame; he served in the United States Army Air Corps
9during World War II; in July of 1944, he joined the 323rd Bomb
10Group (B-26) as a pilot in England and France; later, he was in
11the 14th Liaison Squadron, Ninth Air Force in support of
12General Patton's Third Army; he married Virginia M. Schmidt in
13Aledo on May 4, 1952; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Padesky retired from Sexton Ford in 1988
15after 29 years of service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, James Padesky was a member of Sacred Heart Church,
17American Legion Post 246 in Moline, the Notre Dame Alumni Club
18of the Quad Cities, and the Society of the French Legion of
19Honor; and
 
20    WHEREAS, James Padesky was preceded in death by his
21granddaughter, Kathleen VandeMoortel; his sisters, Sarah Jane

1Fellows, and Elizabeth Padesky; and his brother, John Padesky;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, James Padesky is survived by his wife, Virginia;
4his children and their spouses, Mark and Vicki Padesky, Amy and
5Ron McGill, Joseph and Melissa Padesky, and Anne and Gary
6VandeMoortel; his grandchildren, Greg (Jackie), Christopher
7(Lauren), Luke and Jeffrey Padesky, Alex McGill, Abby (Jeff)
8Less, and Jacob (Liz) VandeMoortel; and nine
9great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12James E. Padesky, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of James Padesky as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
