SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph W. Schultz of Moline, who passed away on March 20, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Schultz was born in Joliet to Joseph A. and Marcella A. Persak Schultz on June 17, 1943; he was drafted in 1965 and proudly served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam; he married Deborah F. Delaney in Wilmington on December 2, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Schultz began his career in 1963 working for the Army Ammunition Plant in Joliet; he became the Director of Information Technology Services for the Department of Defense at the Rock Island Arsenal, where he worked for 41 dedicated years; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Schultz enjoyed golf, bike riding, and hiking; more than anything, he loved to spend time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Schultz was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Schultz is survived by his wife, Deborah Schultz; his sons, Michael (Monica) Schultz, and Steven (Sherri) Schultz; his grandson, Tristan Schultz; his granddaughter, Delaney Schultz; and his sister, Jackie (Jerry) Conlee; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph W. Schultz, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Schultz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
