| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jeannette M. McCullough of Harvard, who | 4 | | passed away on April 7, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeannette McCullough was born to Claude and Myrtle | 6 | | (Pihl) Pagles on May 21, 1928 and attended Dunham Township | 7 | | schools; in 1945, she became the first runner-up for the Milk | 8 | | Day Queen; she graduated from Harvard High School in 1946 and | 9 | | attended the National 4H Club Congress, where she won a | 10 | | four-year scholarship to the University of Illinois; she | 11 | | married Maynard A. McCullough at Trinity Lutheran Church on | 12 | | June 8, 1947; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jeannette McCullough was a homemaker; she was a | 14 | | leader of the Dunham Girls, the Green and White Pom-Poms, and | 15 | | the Dunham B-Sharps 4H Clubs; she won the National Grange | 16 | | Baking Contest in 1961 with her onion dinner rolls and was | 17 | | featured in the Chicago Tribune for her mincemeat pie; she was | 18 | | the McHenry County Farm Woman of the Year in 1981 and received | 19 | | many cooking and sewing awards; she and her husband welcomed | 20 | | many exchange students into their home; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Jeannette McCullough was a member of the Harvard | 22 | | Retired Ladies, the Capron American Legion Auxiliary, and |

| 1 | | Capron, Harvard, and Illinois State Granges; she was a member | 2 | | of the Heartland Sewing Club, the Women of the Moose and Golden | 3 | | Agers, the Coffee Kluch, the Farmer's Fellowship, the West | 4 | | Dunham Homemakers Extension, and the Harvard Historical | 5 | | Society; she was an Officer and Pink Lady for the Harvard | 6 | | Hospital Auxiliary, and served on the McHenry County Fair | 7 | | Board; she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 86 | 8 | | years, where she sang in the choir and served in the Lydia | 9 | | Circle of WELCA; she was involved in all of the activities of | 10 | | her children and grandchildren; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jeannette McCullough was preceded in death by her | 12 | | parents; her husband, Maynard; her brother, Orville Pagles; her | 13 | | sisters, Ruth (Howard) Walker, and Gertrude (Henry) Sward; her | 14 | | brother-in-law, Richard Brady; her grandson, Kevin James | 15 | | McCullough; her father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Jamima | 16 | | (McClure) McCullough; her sisters-in-law, Jean (Bob) | 17 | | Kieselberg, and Marjorie (Ivan) Snuggs; her brothers-in-law, | 18 | | Donald McCullough, and Anton Stohl; and her nephews, Steven | 19 | | Sward, and Gary Kieselberg; and
