| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Gsell of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on April 9, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gsell was born in Sterling to Glenn and | 6 | | Florence Bowen Gsell on September 8, 1929; he graduated from | 7 | | Morrison High School in 1947; he served in the United States | 8 | | Army and married Geneva Simpson in Davenport, Iowa on August 8, | 9 | | 1953; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gsell retired in 1984 from ALCOA after 34 | 11 | | years of service; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gsell was a member of First United | 13 | | Presbyterian Church, a lifelong member of American Legion Post | 14 | | 246 in Moline, and a lifetime member of the Moline Dad's Club; | 15 | | he was also a member of the Moline Parent-Teachers Association | 16 | | and the ALCOA 25 Year Club and Retirees; he was an avid fan of | 17 | | the Chicago White Sox; he enjoyed NASCAR and listening to the | 18 | | radio; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gsell was preceded in death by his parents; | 20 | | his daughter, Gayle; his brother, Gene; and his niece, the Rev. | 21 | | Dr. Julie Harley; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Robert Gsell is survived by his wife, Geneva; his | 2 | | daughter, Teresa (Rick) Holmquist; his grandchildren, | 3 | | Brittanie (Allen) and R. Caleb; his great-grandsons, Tyler and | 4 | | Jak; and his nephew, Greg Gsell; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Robert "Bob" Gsell, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Robert Gsell as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
