| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Raymond E. "Ray" Bucher of Godfrey, who | 4 | | passed away on April 11, 2017; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher was born in Cairo to Aloysius C. | 6 | | "Dutch" and Ruby (Copeland) Bucher on January 22, 1928;
he was | 7 | | a Corporal with the United States Army and served in Japan | 8 | | during the Korean War; he married Sherry Greathouse on October | 9 | | 14, 1950; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher owned and operated Bucher Glass Co. | 11 | | Inc. until he retired in 1993; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher was a former member of Holy Ghost | 13 | | Catholic Church in Jerseyville; he belonged to the Godfrey | 14 | | Knights of Columbus and was a 20-year member of the New | 15 | | Horizons Band; he loved hunting, fishing, and was the founding | 16 | | board member of the Godfrey Sportsman's Club in Pleasant Hill; | 17 | | and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents; his son, Jon Bucher; his brother, Donald "Diz" Bucher; | 20 | | and his sister, Mary Kay "Kacky" Booher; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Bucher is survived by his wife of 66 | 2 | | years, Sherry; his children, Mike (Jan) Bucher, Ed Bucher, | 3 | | Linda (Brad) Wheaton, Carol (Pat) Kerwin, Mari (Paul) | 4 | | Fahrendorf, and Anne (Ted) Palles; his 22 grandchildren; and | 5 | | his brother, Robert (Josephine) Bucher; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Raymond E. "Ray" Bucher, and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
