| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harley W. Hancock of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on April 29, 2017; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Harley Hancock was born in Huron, South Dakota to | 6 | | Austin and Edna Holdsworth Hancock on October 26, 1917; he | 7 | | married Adele Youngberg in Cambridge on May 22, 1937 and served | 8 | | in the United States Army during World War II; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Harley Hancock was the owner and operator of the | 10 | | All Service Barber Shop in Moline for 55 years and retired on | 11 | | January 1, 1995; he was instrumental in starting the barber | 12 | | union in Moline; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Harley Hancock was a member of First Evangelical | 14 | | Free Church in Moline where he served for many years as a | 15 | | deacon and usher; he enjoyed cars and loved visiting with | 16 | | people and had a talent for always remembering their names; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Harley Hancock was preceded in death by his wife, | 18 | | Adele; his brother, Harvey Hancock; and his sisters, Lota Beam | 19 | | and Dora Wertz; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Harley Hancock is survived by his children, Dora |

| 1 | | (Kenneth) Rose and James (Diane) Hancock; his grandchildren, | 2 | | Jill (Nathan) Mather, Erica Erickson, and Austin Hancock; and | 3 | | his four great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Harley W. Hancock, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 7 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 8 | | further | 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Harley Hancock as an expression of | 11 | | our deepest sympathy.
