SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul L. Cook of Milan, who passed away on May 7, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Paul Cook was born in Lauratown, Arkansas to Paul Cook and Lela Johnson Cook on April 6, 1943; he served in the United States Army in Korea and married Holly Krueger; he then married Neva McKinley in Union County on April 13, 1993; and

WHEREAS, Paul Cook worked for the J.I. Case Company (now Case Corporation) for 30 years until his retirement in 1994; and

WHEREAS, Paul Cook was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Rock Island, the Milan American Legion Post No. 569, and the Rock Island Conservation Club; he served on the board of directors for the J.I. Case Credit Union, the J.I. Case Safety Committee, and the executive board of 806; and

WHEREAS, Paul Cook enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Paul Cook was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ruben, Burley, and Charles; and

WHEREAS, Paul Cook is survived by his wife, Neva; his daughter, Teresa Pardee; his stepchildren, William McKinley Jr., Mary (Alan) Taulbee, Faith Dykes, Pauline Dick (Chuck Dole), and Kevin (Julie) McKinley; his 15 grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Letha Elliott, Anna (Ed) Weinert, and Phyllis Munoz; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul L. Cook, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Cook as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
