| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ruth N. Hammons of Springfield, who | 4 | | passed away on May 11, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was born in Springfield to Herbert | 6 | | and Carrie Cook Holman on July 4, 1932; she married George D. | 7 | | Hammons Jr. in Springfield on June 25, 1955; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was an accounting clerk with the | 9 | | State of Illinois Attorney General's Office for over 20 years, | 10 | | retiring in 1981; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons enjoyed camping all over the United | 12 | | States and spending time with her family; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons was preceded in death by her husband, | 14 | | George, and her sister, Mary Richmond; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Hammons is survived by her son, Anthony O. | 16 | | (Terri) Hammons; her daughters, Jennifer (Rev. Robert) Timms | 17 | | and Denise A. Hammons; her grandchildren, Anthony Hammons Jr., | 18 | | Akeyla Timms, India Hammons, Robert Timms Jr., Tanesha Stoner, | 19 | | and Aiisha Stoner; and three great-grandchildren; therefore, | 20 | | be it
