| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of David Reinhardt Wolf, who passed away on | 4 | | May 8, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, David Wolf was born in Des Plaines to Reinhardt | 6 | | and Louise Wolf on January 2, 1931; he married Elizabeth Dobson | 7 | | in 1954; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, David Wolf joined the Des Plaines Fire Department | 9 | | in 1952 as the fifth paid firefighter; he served as a United | 10 | | States Army firefighter in
Zweibrucken, Germany from 1955 to | 11 | | 1957; he returned to the Des Plaines Fire Department, | 12 | | eventually retiring as deputy chief in 1975; he served as | 13 | | deputy chief of the Elk Grove Township Fire Department for its | 14 | | first two years and was a responder to the Flight 191
crash; | 15 | | and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, David Wolf was active in Des Plaines, serving with | 17 | | numerous organizations, including the American Legion, the | 18 | | First Congregational United Church of Christ choir, the Des | 19 | | Plaines Professional Firefighters Association IAFF Local 4211, | 20 | | the Lions Club, the Des Plaines Illinois Sesquicentennial | 21 | | Commission, the Des Plaines Historical Society, the Des
Plaines | 22 | | Historical Landmarks Commission, the Des Plaines 1976 |

| 1 | | Bicentennial Commission, and the Clean Community Commission; | 2 | | he was
president or chairman for most of these organizations | 3 | | and ran for mayor in 1973 and 1977; he retired to Lacon; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, David Wolf is survived by his children, Karl Wolf, | 5 | | Kurt (Lauren) Wolf, Lisa (Richard) DeWitt,
and Jonathan Wolf; | 6 | | his grandchildren, Keith, Kristopher, Kyle, Brian, and | 7 | | Melissa; and six great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | David Reinhardt Wolf, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of David Wolf as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
