| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Arthur Lee Kieffer of Hampton, who passed | 4 | | away on June 12, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer was born on the family farm near | 6 | | Dean, Iowa to Arthur D. and Blanch Potter Kieffer on September | 7 | | 15, 1929; he grew up in southern Iowa and graduated from high | 8 | | school in Exline, Iowa in 1947; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer farmed in Iowa and worked other | 10 | | various jobs; he served in the United States Army from 1951 to | 11 | | 1953; he married Ida Delores Summers in Albia, Iowa on June 13, | 12 | | 1954; they moved to Illinois in 1957, where Arthur would work | 13 | | for John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1987; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer enjoyed woodcarving, gardening, | 15 | | playing games, attending church, taking part in his | 16 | | grandchildren's activities and especially enjoyed spending | 17 | | time with family; he was a Mason and a member of the Odd | 18 | | Fellows and Hampton United Methodist Church; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer was preceded in death by his | 20 | | parents; two sisters; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson; | 21 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer is survived by his wife of 63 | 2 | | years, Ida "Lori" Kieffer; his daughters, Charlotte (Gregory) | 3 | | Mitrisin, Debbie Andrews, Gail Koby, and Winnie (JP) Campbell; | 4 | | his son, Arnie (Ann) Kieffer; his grandchildren, Michael | 5 | | Mitrisin, Amy (Kurt) Rizzolo, Alexandria Mitrisin, John | 6 | | (Ashley) Hicks, Jeremy Koby, Cody (Jessica) Campbell, Colton | 7 | | (Morgan) Campbell, Casey Campbell, Alex Kieffer, Alan Kieffer, | 8 | | and Paul (Sheena) White; and his great-grandchildren, Abigayle | 9 | | and Halie Hicks, Oakley Campbell, Olivia Rizzolo, Courtney, and | 10 | | Chandler; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Arthur Lee Kieffer, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
