SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Arthur Lee Kieffer of Hampton, who passed
4away on June 12, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer was born on the family farm near
6Dean, Iowa to Arthur D. and Blanch Potter Kieffer on September
715, 1929; he grew up in southern Iowa and graduated from high
8school in Exline, Iowa in 1947; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer farmed in Iowa and worked other
10various jobs; he served in the United States Army from 1951 to
111953; he married Ida Delores Summers in Albia, Iowa on June 13,
121954; they moved to Illinois in 1957, where Arthur would work
13for John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1987; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer enjoyed woodcarving, gardening,
15playing games, attending church, taking part in his
16grandchildren's activities and especially enjoyed spending
17time with family; he was a Mason and a member of the Odd
18Fellows and Hampton United Methodist Church; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer was preceded in death by his
20parents; two sisters; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson;

1    WHEREAS, Arthur Kieffer is survived by his wife of 63
2years, Ida "Lori" Kieffer; his daughters, Charlotte (Gregory)
3Mitrisin, Debbie Andrews, Gail Koby, and Winnie (JP) Campbell;
4his son, Arnie (Ann) Kieffer; his grandchildren, Michael
5Mitrisin, Amy (Kurt) Rizzolo, Alexandria Mitrisin, John
6(Ashley) Hicks, Jeremy Koby, Cody (Jessica) Campbell, Colton
7(Morgan) Campbell, Casey Campbell, Alex Kieffer, Alan Kieffer,
8and Paul (Sheena) White; and his great-grandchildren, Abigayle
9and Halie Hicks, Oakley Campbell, Olivia Rizzolo, Courtney, and
10Chandler; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Arthur Lee Kieffer, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Arthur Kieffer as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
