| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harold J. Possley of Erie, who passed | 4 | | away on July 21, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harold Possley was born in Watertown, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Henry J. and Anna T. (Gebhart) Possley on January 19, 1922; he | 7 | | married Dorothy Sullivan in Carthage on June 26, 1947; he | 8 | | served in the United States Navy during World War II and was | 9 | | stationed in the Marshall Islands; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After college, Harold Possley operated the family | 11 | | cheese factory in Erie; he finished his career working in sales | 12 | | for Tombstone Pizza; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Harold Possley's hobbies included working in his | 14 | | woodshop, where he was especially skilled at caning chairs; he | 15 | | was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan; he was a | 16 | | member of Erie American Legion Post 582, a 4th Degree member of | 17 | | the Knights of Columbus, and served on the Erie Village Board | 18 | | for 12 years; he was also a charter member of the Lake Erie | 19 | | Country Club; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Harold Possley was preceded in death by his | 21 | | sister, Valeria Hein, and his brothers, Maurice, Francis, and |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Harold Possley is survived by his wife, Dorothy; | 3 | | his children, Maurice (Cathleen) Possley, Timothy (Gail) | 4 | | Possley, Rita (Brian) Smith, Rosemary (Doug) Cousins, Thomas | 5 | | (Marie) Possley, Madonna Possley, and Joseph (Cathy) Possley; | 6 | | his sisters, Elizabeth Langheim and Mary Jane Finnicum; 19 | 7 | | grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Harold J. Possley, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
