| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Clyde H. Martin of Urbana, who passed | 4 | | away on July 16, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was born in Urbana to Thene E. and | 6 | | Bernice E. (Davidson) Martin on February 14, 1930; he graduated | 7 | | from Urbana High School in 1948; he served in the United States | 8 | | Navy as a hospital corpsman from 1948 to 1953 and married | 9 | | Jeannine E. Roney in Urbana on August 15, 1953; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was a third-generation firefighter | 11 | | for the City of Urbana, retiring as captain on February 2, 1991 | 12 | | after 35 years of service; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was a member of the National Rifle | 14 | | Association, VFW Post 630, the St. Joseph Sportsman Club, and | 15 | | the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association; he was an avid | 16 | | hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his family; | 17 | | and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Martin was preceded in death by his wife, | 19 | | Jeannine; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Martin is survived by his son, Shawn A. |

| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Clyde H. Martin, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
