SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry Lee Kirby of Milan, who passed away on September 9, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Larry Kirby was born in Roseville to Marshall and Juanita Kirby on June 19, 1934; he graduated from Rock Island High School and served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959; following active duty, he served four years in the Army Reserve; and

WHEREAS, Larry Kirby retired in 1985 from the John Deere Parts Distribution Center after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Larry Kirby was involved in Sprint Car racing for 65 years; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bulls, White Sox, and Bears; and

WHEREAS, Larry Kirby was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; and his son; and

WHEREAS, Larry Kirby is survived by his wife, Sarah; his daughter, Vickie Siefker; his stepsons, Lane and Trevor Collie; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; three nieces; one nephew; and his sister-in-law, Sharon Kirby; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry Lee Kirby, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Kirby as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
