SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond W. Webster of Rock Island, who
4passed away on October 1, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Webster was born to Walter and Emma (Arp)
6Webster on April 28, 1924; he served in the United States Army
7from 1943 to 1946 and was stationed in England and France; he
8married Phyllis Stubbe on May 27, 1950; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Webster was employed at Miller Container
10Corp before starting his own business, Webster Steel Rule Dye,
11which he operated for 40 years; he served as Blackhawk Township
12Assessor for nine years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Raymond Webster's memberships included the
14V.F.W., the American Legion, and the Rock Island Elks; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Raymond Webster was preceded in death by his wife,
16Phyllis; his parents; his brothers, George, John, and Walter
17Jr.; and his sisters, Helen Bottoni, Betty Melody Luckenbihl,
18and Bernice Baker; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Raymond Webster is survived by his sister, Mary
20Baker and Donna (James) Nelson; several nieces and nephews; and

1his good friend of over 50 years, Keith (Pearl) Smith;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Raymond W. Webster, and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Raymond Webster as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
