| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Charles Richard "Charlie" Luebke of | 4 | | Moline, who passed away on October 30, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Charles | 6 | | F. and Lydia Luebke on September 22, 1930; he graduated from | 7 | | Keokuk High School and served as an air policeman in the United | 8 | | States Air Force from December of 1950 to December of 1954; he | 9 | | married Shirley J. White at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline | 10 | | on June 1, 1952 and they lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana until | 11 | | December of 1955, when they settled in Moline; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke worked for the McLaughlin Body | 13 | | Company in Moline for five years; he owned Avenue Rental Inc. | 14 | | for 25 years until retiring in 1997 when he sold his business | 15 | | to his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Tom; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke attended First Lutheran Church in | 17 | | Moline; he loved playing golf with his son, Chuck, and they had | 18 | | many good times on the golf course with their golfing buddies; | 19 | | he was also active in local stock car racing, sponsoring the | 20 | | "Avenue Rental" car; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | parents; four sisters; and his daughter-in-law, Melody K. | 2 | | Luebke; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke is survived by his wife of 65 | 4 | | years, Shirley; his son, Charles S. "Chuck" (Caryn Rose); his | 5 | | daughter, Tina L. (Tom) Voss; his grandchildren, Beth Luebke, | 6 | | Kevin Luebke, and Caitlyn Gray; and four great-grandchildren; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Charles Richard "Charlie" Luebke, and extend our sincere | 11 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 12 | | him; and be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Charles Luebke as an expression of | 15 | | our deepest sympathy.
